WELCOME ABOARD

Your crew, a little closer.

1

Say hello

Choose a text channel and unlock it with your private crew key. Type a message, then press Enter to send.

2

Pull up a chair

Choose a voice room, then Join voice room. Your microphone starts only after you allow it.

3

Show your world

Turn on your camera or share a window. Screen sharing replaces camera video and includes your microphone, but not computer audio.

Invite links are private. Share them only with your friends.

Measuring server response time…

In a call, the connection badge shows the highest measured round-trip time to your connected peers. Lower is better. It is not a measurement of total microphone-to-speaker delay.

Calls: voice, camera and screen sharing are encrypted between WebRTC peers, including when routed through the TURN relay. The app does not record calls. Other participants can still record what they receive.

Text: new message contents are encrypted on your device with the private crew key before sending. The server stores ciphertext; names, room names, timestamps and presence remain visible. Older plaintext messages are labeled. Anyone with the crew key can read that key’s history. Display names are not verified identities. This shared-key design has no forward secrecy. A compromised device or modified client can expose keys; the web/desktop renderer is supplied by this server, so you must still trust its code and updates.

PRIVATE CREW KEY

Only your crew holds the key.

Your invite gets you in. This separate key unlocks new text messages. Ask a friend for the existing key; only the first person should create one.

By default keys last for this browser/app session. Remembering stores them in this profile, accessible to software with access to it. Keep a separate backup. Sign out clears this tab’s keys and this profile’s remembered copy; other open tabs can retain their keys.

Share keys separately, never in this chat. Lost keys cannot be recovered by the server. Removing a friend requires a new key shared only with remaining members; the old key still opens old history.

Forget keys on this device?

This removes all crew keys saved in this app/browser profile and clears your draft. You will need your private backup to read encrypted history again. Other open tabs, devices and your clipboard are not cleared.
